Word on the Street Festival

I’m very honoured to have received an invitation to present on the Teen Spirit stage at Toronto’s Word on the Street Festival….”Canada’s largest book and magazine festival. Last year, 215,000 booklovers spent the day in the new location on Toronto’s waterfront, browsing the more than 260 book and magazine exhibits and enjoying the works of nearly 300 Canadian authors, presenters, and performers in 18 programmed venues.”

New translation

A lovely new translation of The Color of Silence…I love the way each chapter starts with a tiny picture and the narrator’s name….a shoe for Alex and a necklace for Joanie.  So sweet!korea

Book Launch/Authors for Indies

Have to thank Mary and Terry at Mill Street Books in Almonte for hosting my very first book launch….yes, I know, it’s my fifth book and shouldn’t really be my first launch!    Anyway, it turned out to be a great time with family and friends and an extremely special cake compliments of everyone’s favourite baker, Baker Bob!   It was so pretty I didn’t want them to cut it!

New Bookshelf

IMG_8481So, I took a break from editing today and decided to get creative.  I found an old gate from our farm and persuaded my husband to try to attach it to our kitchen wall…far enough away that I could put books on it but close enough that the books wouldn’t all fall off!   So, this is the result.   You’ll notice I put my two favourite female Canadian authors on the top! (well, one favourite and one dreamer anyway!)
